SMB began as a Management Consulting firm. And, three years ago Deb reengineered the company to focus primarily on Education Technology/online learning, working with subject matter experts on creating and promoting online training courses.
Deb has held corporate leadership roles in Strategic Planning, Marketing, Sales, Business Development and Operations Management. She has also worked extensively with nonprofits, membership associations, and small - to - midsized businesses, which is reflected in her company’s name (SMB).
SMB Digital Education, a division of SMB Value Partners, Inc. offers both consumer education (B2C) and business education (B2B) in an online format. Partnering with small to mid-sized business owners, Deb helps them develop their online curriculum, hosting their online courses, and leveraging her digital marketing expertise in generating awareness, and revenue, for their businesses. The videos from the courses are duplicated and offered on the FuturesNetwork.TV VOD (video-on-demand) platform, available on a subscription or pay-per-view basis.
Deb also offers onsite, virtual (2D) and virtual reality (3D) learning experiences in a conference environment. She has created and chaired two global conferences focused on entrepreneurial education in 2023: VC LatinX Conference in May, and VC EuropeX Conference in October. Each conference hosted over 1,000 attendees from countries around the world. (VC LatinX Conference had attendees from 25 countries. VC EuropeX had attendees from 46 countries). Deb is currently working on VC APAX Conference – Asia/Pacific Islands, scheduled for March 2024. And mid-year 2024 she will chair the VC MEAX Conference (Middle East and Africa). The global conferences will be offered four times per year, bringing together subject matter experts in business, health and wellness to educate entrepreneurs all over the world. She is also bringing online education to the Metaverse, working on the FuturesNetwork.TV Meta app, where education will be available in 3D, virtual reality, to those with an ocular device. She is a first mover in this space.
Deb is also the host of two syndicated TV Talk Shows on Futures Television Broadcast Media, AppleTV and RokuTV, broadcasting to over 600 million subscribers. On her “Ask Deb About Business” show, she speaks with subject matter experts about business – challenges, revenue growth, risk, solutions, and best practices. On her “Ask Deb About Health” show, she speaks with healthcare practitioners, helping people build their health literacy skills to successfully find and access care, prevent certain health conditions, communicate their needs to their health-care team, and make informed decisions about their health. Deb invites subject matter experts on the show to discuss health and wellness-related topics.
SMB provides 'cradle-to-grave' online education - from birth through the end-stages of life, focusing on the health of expectant mothers and their infants; grade school children who need to improve their reading and math literacy; teenagers who need to learn financial literacy and life skills; business-owners and entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses; and seniors and their families, who must care for them.
Deb has an MBA in Marketing and Business Management, and is certified in Data Science from Johns Hopkins University, and Organizational Leadership from Northwestern University. She is a member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and a former member of the Chicago Board of Directors, a Regional Leader of NAWBO Chicago North Connects (Lake Forest), and winner of NAWBO Chicago’s 2019 Member of the Year. She is also a former member of the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors.
Deb believes access to education is the passport to the future. Her belief, like Maimonides, is “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.
